Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications are now open and will close on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home with a combined gross house income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded here to deliver the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
